Rockland Animal Rescue
Rockland County,New York
We are a 100% volunteer organization. We have no shelter of our own, so we foster all of our animals until we can find them loving homes.
PLEASE NOTE, WE ARE NOT A SHELTER, BUT AN OUTREACH PROGRAM FOR THE COMMUNITY. WE WILL HELP INDIVIDUALS WHO RESCUE CATS TO FIND SUITABLE SITUATIONS FOR THEM. SINCE ROCKLAND ANIMAL RESCUE IS ONLY AN OUTREACH ORGANIZATION, WE DO NOT ACCEPT CATS OR KITTENS
We rescue our animals from the streets of Rockland County. We rescue cats, kittens and socialize feral cats and kittens to prepare them for adoption. We also rescue injured wild animals and birds too. We teach the ferals trust, how to live in a house and how to allow themselves to be loved by humans. Sometimes it can be a long slow process and it requires a ton of patience and understanding. We have many shy cats who are extremely loving to us and just need that special someone who is willing to give them a bit of time to come around and a lot of love.
VOLUNTEER
Do you love working with animals? Caring for cats? Walking dogs? Interacting with the public? Providing in-home care for young kittens? If you can commit as little as 2-hours per week, we would love to have you on our team! We offer a very flexible volunteering schedule because animals need care every day (and night) of the week. Volunteering is also a great way to contribute to your community, meet other animal lovers, and feel better about yourself.
Please click on the Volunteer Application to complete and email the form. Our volunteer coordinator will contact you to setup an initial schedule and arrange training.
Sorry…due to liability concerns you must be at least 18 years old to volunteer.

Be Part of the Solution
"Public awareness on the importance of
spaying and neutering is the key to
alleviating dog and cat overpopulation.
Once individuals are educated on the
seriousness of the overpopulation problems,
then the spay/neuter solution will really work."
